The Candidate Assistance Program (CAP) has been cancelled on July 29, 2017.
LAPD candidates are required to wear Business Attire during all test parts and meetings with Recruitment and Employment Division, unless otherwise instructed.
The Oral Prep will held at the City of Los Angeles Personnel Department Building from 12:30pm - 2:30pm on the following Saturdays:

Candidate Advancement Program
In order to receive credit for attending CAP, candidates are required to create a Quick Response (QR) code. To create a QR code, download a QR code generator/reader application on your phone or tablet. There are many free apps that will do just fine.
Once you open the initial screen, your camera should activate. Click on the down arrow on the top right hand corner of the screen. The drop arrow will give you this option: Click the QR button along the bottom of the screen (highlighted in BLUE), and press the + button (upper left corner) to create a new code:
Now you can create a QR code: Type in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS WITH NO SPACE IN BETWEEN THE COMMAS the following information:
LAST NAME,FIRST NAME,LAST FOUR OF SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER,CAP LOCATION (ARTC, EP, DEV),RUN GROUP (BEG, INT or ADV),PHONE NUMBER,EMAIL ADDRESS,ETHNICITY CODE (See Below),AGE
Ethnicity Code: M or F for Male or Female followed by a number:
1= African American, 2=Hisp, 3=Asian, 4=Cauc, 5=Native American, 7=Filipino
Example: a male Asian with have ethnicity code (M3)
Press ?Create?, then tap on the QR code, and the picture will enlarge. Take a picture to store on your device. Your QR code is ready to be scanned.
Rainy Day Schedule: If it is raining 2 hours prior to start time, CAP will be canceled. Women's CAP is Rain or Shine!
